Multi-platinum selling Jackyl has long since validated itself as America’s Rock Band!  Jackyl’s legacy of its wild, untamed and uncouth approach to rock ‘n’ roll is well established.  The band hit the scene and immediately began firing off rock radio hits like “Down on Me,” “When Will it Rain,” “I Stand Alone,” and most notably, “The Lumberjack” during which lead singer Jesse James Dupree performs a chainsaw solo.  The introduction of Jackyl’s fifth instrument on album and in concert quickly became one of the band’s many trademarks as the group blazed a path to infamy, sharing the stage with Aerosmith, Kiss and ZZ Top.

Bands on the Course

Music makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Live bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative, classic and punk rock to blues, jazz and soul along each mile of the race course. The bands set the tempo for this marathon block party, where runners and spectators alike will be “dancin’ in the streets.”

Rock around the Block

Any neighborhood along the course is able to participate in this friendly competition. Neighborhoods will set up a Spirit Station at a designated point along the course and cheer on the runners throughout the race. Prize money will be given to the top three most spirited neighborhoods!
Spirit on the Course Competition
Local high school, middle school, cheer clubs, and dance teams cheer on thousands of runners as they rock their way through Savannah.  Every school is guaranteed a minimum donation just for participating.
