Relaxing retreat - a wonderful step back in time onTybee!

What a wonderful place - truly such a pleasure to stay at Ocean Villa!
Over the past several years, we have stayed at over 10 properties on Tybee and this one is, by far, our favorite.
From the moment my son and I entered, we were charmed by the whole happy kitsch ambience - welcoming, but not too over the top. The decor, and over all feel of this house, is truly like a trip back to the 1940s, BUT with all of the modern conveniences of today. The linens on the bed felt decadent, with the fluffy mattress toppers and vintage covers. Television (never turned it on!) games and books, too! The kitchen is no frills, but has everything you could possibly need. The retro feel even extends to the patterned, blue linoleum floor - perfect!
The house was immaculate and well equipped with everything that could make our stay comfortable. This included the boogie boards, cart, chairs and umbrellas. Although it was just the two of us, this home could easily accomodate four or more, comfortably.
The view of the beach and the ocean are unparaleled - a super quick 90 second stroll (tops) to be on the sand. You just can't beat that. This North-ish stretch of shoreline is sparsely populated compared to other areas of the island. There is plenty of room on the beach to stake out territory for the day. And it is a (too!) easy walk to the Sugar Shack, Sundae Cafe and Pizza on Wheels.
Note, if you are looking for a hip, slick and cool pad - you may want to move along.
If you ARE hoping to find a fun, clean, charming, comfortable, thoughtfully appointed AND cool (in it's own right) rental - then, you have found the perfect place with the very best possible Tybee location.
Thank you, Lauren - we had an amazing stay!

“I was pleasantly surprised by this condo. It was clean, large, and right on the ocean. You couldn’t beat the location. The games and puzzles kept my kids occupied during the rainy times. The condo was well provisioned and Lauren even sweetly came over early one morning to drop off plastic wrap & tin foil when I asked where it was. She is a very accommodating host. I recommend renting a golf cart for the day too - very fun. Clean uncrowded beach. ”

Happy, Happy, Happy
Left on May 3, 2016 for a stay in Apr 2016
This was unlike any condo I had ever stayed before. It was beautiful in colors of turquoise, pink and lime green. Everything was so clean and fresh feeling. It was like being at my Mimi's for the Summer! Chenille bedspreads!! Are you kidding me?! My husband and I loved the antique and distressed furniture. Great attention to detail has been put into this home down to the light switch covers! I tried to find even the tiniest bug or spider web but there wasn't anything!!! We were so comfortable, we wanted just to "lay around", be beach bums and relax! The deck was inviting with super-comfy cushions and view of the ocean. Lauren was the perfect hostess responding quickly to every text and phone call. Even gave us great restaurant suggestions. This was our first time in Tybee but will not be our last!!
Couldn't wait to write this review! Loved this property. We stayed in the My Little Beach House downstairs. The feel of this place is so nice. It was extremely clean and we had everything we needed. It is cute, quaint and it was nice to be able to bring our furbaby with us. The fenced in backyard is so cute with an outdoor shower and adorable playhouse. Did not see one bug. Did I say it was CLEAN? Wow! Lauren was great to work with and told us we would appreciate the proximity to the beach and Tybrisa St. where some of the shops and restaurants are and she wasn't kidding. Tybee is a pay to park city and if you aren't staying in a place (like here) that provides a parking place, you'd have to buy parking permits from the city. We walked everywhere nearby. We ate at The Breakfast Club and it is awesome and was the best service we got anywhere we ate. It actually had a kind of Athens, GA feel about it. On the menu it states that their cooks are creative and know that their job depends on the guests coming back. They make you feel like they really like you being there, not just laying it on. They like their restaurant. The other place we got great service was at AJ's Dockside. Rockhouse Grill didn't seem to care if we patronized them or not but food was good. Fanny's was okay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend My Little Beachhouse. We stayed at a place further down on the coast once and while the location and property were great, there were spiderwebs and palmetto bugs in abundance inside and no vacuum. I now travel with the lift-away part of my vacuum (I have a big vehicle) in case I encounter this again and feel I have to clean and sanitize before I can relax. I didn't have to use it before feeling relaxed at Lauren's property. It really was that clean and I am picky. I always clean a property well before I leave it and there was a vacuum cleaner in the closet here. Thanks, Lauren. We really enjoyed our three days of R and R. I like that you are my cousin now.
