New Year's Eve fireworks on Tybee. The best ever!! Don't miss the show.
Don’t miss the fireworks on Tybee!!
Celebrate the New Year – 2013 arrival – with a really amazing fireworks display at midnight at the Tybee Pier & Pavilion on Tybee Island or just bring your chairs and cocktails to the beach anywhere and watch from there. Tybee’s popular annual event is free and open to the public.
On New Year’s Day, take a chilly plunge into the Atlantic Ocean at the
2013 Tybee Polar Plunge – noon at Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion, Tybrisa St. and Strand Ave. This year’s plunge welcomes the return of the “Gang of Goofs” contest at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to dress up in funny and wacky costumes for a chance to parade in front of a local Tybee panel of judges and to win great prizes.
it’s FREE to enter the “Gang of Goofs” contest; $25 entry fee to take the plunge but you get a long-sleeve Tybee Polar Plunge t-shirt. Event proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic Tybee Post Theater on Tybee Island. Last year’s event set a Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Wearing Swim Caps. For more information and to register for the 2013 Tybee Polar Plunge and “Gang of Goofs” costume contest online (before Dec. 28) visit www.tybeepolarplunge.com.
